Prov.4 olrsv
[4] he taught me, and said to me, “Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments, and live;

Prov.4 mprsv
[4] he taught me, and said to me, “Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments, and live;

Prov.4 olt
[4] He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Prov.4 mpt
[4] HE INSTRUCTED me and said to me, “Let your mind hold on to MY WORDS; keep MY COMMANDMENTS and you will live.”

The words of Solomon !!!!

Grammar has never been one of my skills, however I was touched to mention it here.  NOTE: all but mpt version have commas before the “and” in both locations.  It is my understanding that when this is done they become two different items and are not connected.  I feel here it is better read and understood without them.

Compare the mpt verse to the other three:

“INSTRUCTED” v. “taught”

Where the words involve child to child there is a difference and that is discussed above at 2Chr.17.  Here they are from GOD to child and thus both can be used for GOD INSTRUCTS and TEACHES.

“mind” v. “heart”

This is what I consider to be one of the major word changes.  Everything in our one on ONE face to FACE relationship with GOD is based on understanding HIS WORD and HIS WISDOM, the “mind” allows you to do this, the “heart” does not.

The “heart” or I should say the use of the word here is meant for “feeling” not actual functioning of the organ.

There is a mass push that all three religions, j-c-i, worship the same god and that we all should feel good about that.

They don’t worship the same god, and they don’t worship GOD in the WAY OF GOD.  They worship their religion and thus make it a god before-between-beside GOD, which violates the FIRST LAW OF GOD.

The religions of j-c-i are not the same, and thus the gods they define are not the same, and thus their god, their religion, to their god are not the same, and thus their gods are not the same and thus their gods are not GOD !!!!!

Contemplation:

1. Do you let something stand before-between-beside you and GOD?

2. Do you let your mind lead your study of the WORDS OF GOD?

3. Or are you lead by the feelings of others about the words they claim are GOD’S?

4. Do the three religions, j-c-i, worship the same GOD?  Start at the quran 5.17.
