1. This verse again returns us to the necessity of being very cautious about plucking out a single verse and anchoring ourselves to it !!!!

3. Let us for another moment step forward a few verses to Isaiah 9.5. mpt “For A CHILD has been born to us, A SON HAS BEEN GIVEN us. And AUTHORITY HAS SETTLED ON HIS SHOULDERS, HE HAS BEEN NAMED, ‘THE MIGHTY GOD IS PLANNING GRACE; THE ETERNAL FATHER, A PEACEABLE RULER.’ “

8. “have seen a BRILLIANT LIGHT“: all those beat down under absolute despotism were able to see GOD IN JESUS, but the rulers of the religion that claimed ownership of the way of the law to GOD could not see THE LIGHT, they knew HE was different and they feared and hated HIM instead of understanding HIM for they preferred their darkness over HIS LIGHT !_!!!!!!! /!!!!!!\
9. “land of gloom“: again we must understand the context of time that Isaiah prophesied in and the time of the fulfillment of this prophecy.
10. “land of gloom“: applied to the once Promised Land in Isaiah’s time for the Tribes of Jacob had separated and the 10 and a half tribes were being slaughtered and about to be relished to the lost of history, and the other 2 and a half tribes were about to go face to face with Nebuchadnezzar !!
11. Jerusalem would be rebuilt, not under GOD, but under Persian kings, and the last of the kings would send Ezra back to Jerusalem to form judaism for him, king Xerxes !! Yes, the god king from the movie “300” !!
12. “land of gloom“: as prophesied in this verse applied to the time of the COMING OF THE CHRIST for Xerxes would be long gone, and a new god king, caeser, and his Roman Legions would impose his will on the once Promised Land.
