This verse is from another letter of SPaul’s written to combat other teachings that don’t comply with SPaul’s teachings. Once must remember that SPaul was both a Roman and Jewish. A dual citizen well educated and connected to all the powers of government and religion.
Isn’t our whole study here about being “TAUGHT BY GOD and not man” ????
From SPaul’s upbringing as a pharisaical scribe known to the high priest, SPaul’s writings and words were the law. pharisees: a sect of the religion of judaism at the TIME GOD WAS in their midst with strict observance of the traditional and written law, and commonly held to have pretensions to superior sanctity: self-righteous hypocrites ! scribes: the jewish record-keeper of the law and interpretations, a professional theologian (an expert in religious faith, practice, and experience) and jurist (an expert in the law) ! The linage of the high priests of the religion of judaism starting with Ezra, who became ruler around 6 Century BCE !! So SPaul would defend SPaul’s writtings and words, teachings, against all others, even those of IMMANUEL, GOD when HE was in their midst !!! This should be clear if you study SPaul’s writings, in that SPaul’s god, the law god is first, this son of SPaul’s law god is second, and this unseen thing in others, the SPIRIT, needs a place so it got stuck at the end, and the trinity of the christian religion is birth, not by GOD, but by spawl of SPaul, the teachings of a man over the TEACHINGS OF GOD !!

To contemplate this verse one needs to read, study, contemplate, and understand the introduction at 1.1 where SPaul once again self-proclaims his apostleship and separates IMMANUEL, THE CHRIST, GOD in their midst, and GOD. Then read 2.1-5, “GOD’S mystery, which is CHRIST”, and then SPaul claims to be the spirit, or at least with them in spirit! We must also read, study, contemplate, and understand the lead in verse, mprsv Colossians 2.6. “As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in him,” the mpesv changes “live” to “walk”. Why ??????

2. Is THE CHRIST a mystery ??? ? ??? Isaiah 7.14; Isaiah 9.6; John 1.1-5; John 10.30; John 14.11; Revelation 5.6; Revelation 22.16 !!!!!!!
3. Does the SPIRIT OF GOD really belong at the end of this worshipped trinity ??? Genesis 1.1-2 & Revelation 5.6 !!!!!!! The answer is no !!!!!!!
4. Does “walk” versus “live” make a difference at the end of Colossians 2.6 ????
